I text a lot. What plan and phone would you recommend?
Verizon offers a variety of unlimited texting plans to fit into any new plan that may interest you. If you’re hardcore and don’t even need voice minutes to communicate, you may be interested in the Verizon Nationwide Messaging plan that offers unlimited text, instant, picture & video messaging, and unlimited Mobile Web 2.0 usage.
Phones that are best for texting are the ones with a keyboard, like the Samsung Glyde, Verizon Wireless Blitz, Verizon Wireless SMT5800, LG Voyager, or any Smart Phone. Touch screens (LG Dare, Verizon Wireless XV6900) can be a helpful texting tool as well.
Is a BlackBerry really all it’s cracked up to be?
With the BlackBerry, you can view email and attachments, stay on track and on time with the organizer and calendar and surf the Internet to stay in–the–know. Blackberries are excellent tools for organizing e-mails, contacts and appointments. Email messages sent to your personal or corporate accounts will be automatically delivered to your Blackberry device. Teamed with a Blackberry Enterprise Server from your work or school and a Blackberry Desktop Solution plan; nothing outperforms Blackberry. And of course, you can take pictures and capture video with the built–in 2.0 megapixel camera and then share the moments with your friends. Stay entertained with the media player and get to where you want to go with VZ Navigator.
The BlackBerry comes with a data plan for an additional $29.99. The data plan gives you the capability to use your BlackBerry for personal email and Web surfing. It gives you access to up to ten POP3 and IMAP email accounts, including Yahoo!® Mail, AOL® Mail, Windows Live® Hotmail®, and Verizon.net.
My kids want cell phones. I’m a little concerned they aren’t responsible enough and don’t want to get nailed with a bunch of fees, nor do I want to pay an arm and a leg. What are my options?
First things first, you need to decide on how many lines you are going to need and then think long and hard about how many minutes you’re going to use. Decide if you want text and video messaging too, and whether you want unlimited messaging or not. When you have this all sorted out you can check out our plans or call us at any one of our three locations to talk to customer service representative and find out which plan is right for you and your family.
I dropped my phone in the toilet. Now what?
Every phone comes with a 1-year manufacturer’s warranty that covers defects in the phone; unfortunately the random phone drops aren’t covered under this standard umbrella. Here’s how can you potentially save your phone. Take the phone’s battery off completely and open up the phone. Unscrew the antenna (if you can) and just let the phone sit (OFF) for at least a full day. DO NOT plug phone in during this wet stage, it could fry the phone completely. There are also water marks that show damage on phones. This will be a red dot mark on the phone and/or battery. Removal of these water marks voids warranty. Verizon offers Extended Warranties, which each extend the 12 month manufacturer’s warranty for the life of the phone. Wireless Phone Protection protects against theft, loss and accidental physical damage. The Total Equipment Coverage combines the Wireless Phone Protection and the Extended Warranty. The Extended Warranty is $1.99 per month, the Wireless Phone Protection is $4.99 per month and the Total Equipment Coverage is $5.99 per month. You have up to 15 days to choose which you prefer.
